Xquisite Morocco made a genuinely premium product — but their brand made it look like something you'd pick up at a tourist market. The packaging was forgettable. The visual identity was indistinguishable from dozens of local competitors. They were selling luxury at commodity prices because nothing about their presentation said "this is worth more."
Xquisite wasn't a local product with international dreams. It was an international-caliber brand that happened to be Moroccan. The positioning was inverted — they were competing downward against souvenir shops when they should have been positioning upward against global luxury brands. The entire frame needed to be flipped.
